LEGO City Undercover & LEGO The Movie The Video Game. Position: Art Director
‘Jonesy – you are now Art Director’. That was one week after starting as a Lead Artist.
Working with Erin Roberts again (Star Lancer) and Nick Elms (Warthog Games) and many other old schoolers, with a team of 33 artists at its height built a massive open world LEGO adventure and pushed all the boundaries we could in the time we had.
A wide and varied project, large openworld spaces ranging from forests to citys, interior levels, new game mechanics, hundreds of vehicles, the team did an amazing job. I only have a small selection of work to show on this, including previs for levels and some promo images. Character posing not by me. One rarity was being able to design our own box art – for both WiiU and handheld games.
